Northern Territory, Australia, 126 Km west of Alice Springs on a sealed road you will find Hermannsburg.
Hermannsburg was a Lutheran Mission in the late 1800's and was one of the early towns of Central Australia. The mission and land were handed back to the Aboriginal people in 1982.  |

The old mission buildings have been restored to their 19th century condition and have a museum, art gallery and tea rooms.

Hermannsburg was Albert Namatija's (the famous Aboriginal artist) home.
Some of Albert Namatjira's paintings are housed in the art gallery.
